Adjective agreement

Most Spanish adjectives must agree with the noun they describe in terms of gender and number.

SingularPlural
-a-asuna chica linda / unas chicas lindas
-o-osun chico lindo / unos chicos lindos

Una cirujana buena; unas cirujanas buenas; un hotel bonito; unos hoteles bonitos.

A good surgeon; some good surgeons; a nice hotel; some nice hotels.

Note: Some adjectives don’t have a different masculine or feminine form:

Una mujer amable; un hombre amable; unas personas egoístas; unos niños egoístas.

A nice woman; a nice man; some selfish people; some selfish kids
