Some verbs that are irregular in the present subjunctive
Many verbs ending in -acer, -ecer, -ocer and -ucir are irregular in the present subjunctive and add the letter z to the root.
Quiero que conozcan mi ciudad conocer, subj. presente.
I want you to know my city
Avísame en cuanto traduzcas el documento traducir, subj. presente.
Let me know as soon as you translate the document
These are the conjugations:
Tú agradezcas
Él/ella/usted agradezca
Nosotros/as agradezcamos
Vosotros/as agradezcáis
Ellos/ellas/ustedes agradezcan
Tú nazcas
Él/ella/usted nazca
Nosotros/as nazcamos
Vosotros/as nazcáis
Ellos/ellas/ustedes nazcan
Tú conduzcas
Él/ella/usted conduzca
Nosotros/as conduzcamos
Vosotros/as conduzcáis
Ellos/ellas/ustedes conduzcan
Other verbs that follow this pattern are: permanecer (to stay, to remain), amanecer (to dawn), anochecer (to get dark), crecer (to grow), enloquecer (to madden), establecer (to establish), ofrecer (to offer), parecer (to seem, to appear), seducir (to seduce, to charm) and producir (to produce).
Es necesario que permanezca en cama permanecer, subj. presente.
It's necessary for you to stay in bed
Cuando crezca, quiero ser médico crecer, subj. presente.
When I grow up, I want to be a doctor
