Choose the TRUE statements from the list below.

There may be more than one correct answer!

Choose the TRUE statements from the list below.

There may be more than one correct answer!
This is incorrect. When Bruno says "You can play for Team Delavigne anytime!", Sigourney replies "I really enjoyed it. I'll consider it.". To "consider" something is to "think carefully" about it, which doesn't mean that she doesn't want to play dodgeball again.
This is incorrect. "Nearly" is synonymous with "almost" and expresses the sense of "coming close" to doing something, or "all but" completing an action. On the other hand, the Delavigne team chant "Champions! Champions!" because they have won the tournament thanks to Sigourney's help. As Bruno says: "Thanks to you, we took first place in the tournament!"
This is correct. Bruno says to Sigourney "You can play for Team Delavigne anytime!", this means that Bruno is inviting Sigourney to play in any future dodgeball matches. The use of "any" in this sentence has the meaning of "it doesn't matter which", for example: I want to go on holiday, anytime, anywhere, or with anyone, it doesn't matter.

Harold Warbuckle tells Bob Carter "I will consider that". What is he referring to?

Harold Warbuckle tells Bob Carter "I will consider that". What is he referring to?
Bob suggests that Harold needs an IT consultant to help him migrate software platforms. Warbuckle says "I'll consider that" in response to Bob's suggestion. To "hire (an employee)" is to engage or solicit their services for a fee. "To consider (a proposal)" is to think about it, or reflect upon it. For example: I will consider all my options before making my decision.
Although Bob suggests that Harold should "send him a telegram", this comes after Warbuckle's statement that "he will consider that". Warbuckle is not responding to Bob's request for a telegram.
One does not usually consider a business card. Generally, we consider situations, suggestions, problems and proposals. Although in a very literal sense, we could imagine that Harold will look very closely at Bob's business card, this is unlikely.
Warbuckle is considering migrating IT platforms and not IT consultants. We at Gymglish are not sure how an IT consultant is "migrated". Perhaps they fly south for the winter.

Replace the terms from Susie's email with synonyms in the sentences below.

I was rather concerned when the plane crashed. --> I was concerned when the plane crashed.

She contemplated leaving her husband because of his infidelity. --> She her husband because of his infidelity.

If I tell you something, it must remain between us. --> If I tell you something, it must between us.
Replace the terms from Susie's email with synonyms in the sentences below.

I was rather concerned when the plane crashed. --> I was quite 1 concerned when the plane crashed.

She contemplated leaving her husband because of his infidelity. --> She considered leaving 2 her husband because of his infidelity.

If I tell you something, it must remain between us. --> If I tell you something, it must stay 3 between us.
1 quite: This is correct. "Rather" is synonymous with "quite", "somewhat", or "a little" in this context. For example: "It was rather dark in the office after we turned off the lights".
1 hardly: This is incorrect. "Rather" is not synonymous with "hardly". "Hardly" means the same thing as "barely", "only just", or "not very much". For example: "You've hardly eaten anything! Are you sick?"
1 instantly: This is incorrect. "Rather" is not synonymous with "instantly". "Instantly" means "immediately" or "right away".
2 considered leaving: This is the correct answer. "To contemplate" and "to consider" are synonymous in this context. Both terms mean to "think about" or "reflect" on/about something. For example "My brother is contemplating moving to France for his job".
2 decided to leave: This is incorrect. "To decide to do something" is to "make a decision" that you will do it. This expresses certainty, whereas when you "consider doing something", you are not sure if you will do it.
2 wanted to leave: This is incorrect. "To want to" is not synonymous with "to contemplate". If somebody is contemplating doing something, they don't know whether they want to do it or not yet.
3 stay: This is the right choice. "To remain" and "to stay" are synonymous in this context. For example: "I know I slept with your wife, but I hope we can remain friends."
3 be discussed: This is not the correct choice. "To remain" is not synonymous with "to discuss". If a topic is "discussed", then it is "talked" or "spoken" about. For example: "Brian's schedule needs to be discussed in the morning meeting!".
3 be understood: This is not the right answer. "To remain" is not synonymous with "to understand"."To be understood" is "to be comprehended". For example: "The rules of the office need to be understood by all employees".

"I was wondering if you would be able to handle our cosmetic packaging as well,"

What is the meaning of "to handle"?
"To touch (someone)" is to physically come in contact with them, with a hand or a finger for example. To touch isn't synonymous with "to handle" in this context.
"To manage" is synonymous with "to handle" in this context. "Handling cosmetic packaging" is the act of taking care of the cosmetic packaging. Kevin asks Mrs. Lee if she is willing to do this, and she says yes.
"To consider (something)" is to think about it carefully. "To consider" isn't synonymous with "to handle".
